Senior accountant to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities. Responsibilities include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure a redundant process backup is in place for every critical operation:

  • month & year end closing

  • posting open batches for AR, AP, PO, IM, SO, CR, and CM

  • accounts payable/receivable

  • cash receipts

  • general ledger

  • payroll and utilities

  • revenue and expenditure variance analysis

  • check runs

  • fixed asset activity

  • Reconcile Balance Sheet and Income Statement each month

  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements

  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles

  • Coordinate and complete annual audits

  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy

  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

Create new internal accounting corporate policies and maintain existing policies

Develop monthly and quarterly accounting reports for management and executive teams

Implement and monitor month, quarter and year-end closeout accounting schedules

Maintain high level of accuracy in the use of resources through proper monitoring and efficient analysis of the accounting department’s activities

Ensure precise and opportune periodic, quarterly and annual ledger close

Ensure the timely coverage of all monthly payments, bills and receivables reporting

Make sure the correct and appropriate dispensation of constructive pay transactions

Requirements

  • Proven experience as Accounting Mgr. or Accounting Supervisor

  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases, especially in SAGE series (90, 100, 200 or 500)

  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data

  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to direct and supervise
